PET production:

The raw materials for PET are terephthalic acid dimethyl ether and ethylene glycol. Colorless crystals of terephthalic acid are synthesized with ethylene glycol (liquid) in a special apparatus at a temperature of 260 degrees and a solution of polyethylene terephthalate is formed at the exit. The solution is extruded, cooled and granulated, or the fiber is sent for spinning. All the necessary dyes and additives are introduced into the material or the resulting PET solution during synthesis. The commodity PET material at the outlet is 2-4 mm pellets. Polyethylene terephthalate is a high molecular weight plastic polymer. It has nothing to do with toxic low molecular weight phthalate. Plasticizer dibutyl phthalate is also not used in the production of plastic containers, since polyethylene terephthalate itself is plastic.

PET and ecology:

PET packaging has gained popularity due to its ease of Use, Weight, low cost and, most importantly, its full inertness to products packaged in it. PET belongs to the 5th, safest, exhaust class. The production and circulation process of plastic containers does not require a large amount of electricity, which also reduces CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
